Now it's dark. Into the night I cry out I cry out your name. Into the night I search out I swearch out your love. Night so dark Where are you? Come back in my heart So dark So dark. Into the night Shadows fall Shadows fall so blue. I cry out I cry out for you. Night so dark Where are you? Come back in my heart So dark So dark So dark.

I hope I teach you to be honest I hope I teach you to be kind I hope I teach you to be gentle I hope I teach you to love life The night is not to be afraid of At night I'll hold you in my arms A world awaits you filled with wonder At night I'll love you in your dreams I hope that nature helps me teach you I hope the sun shines on your face I hope you see beauty in a raindrop I hope tomorrow is a smile So close your eyes and let me keep you Safe from everything you fear Close your eyes and love in dreamland Close your eyes and drift in peace I hope I teach you to be honest I hope I teach you to be kind I hope I teach you to be gentle I hope I teach you to love life

about

This EP is dedicated to Julee Cruise, Angelo Badalamenti, Mimi Parker, Hardy Fox, Akifumi Nakajima and Kit Vitale (Ghost-Youth). Kit just passed away, the last conversation I had with him was sharing the work in progress rough mix of the Julee Cruise song (he also recently covered her).

A tribute to those we've lost who inspired me. With both Angelo Badalamenti and Julee Cruise leaving us in 2022, I thought it only right to do a cover of "Into The Night", a song I've always wanted to record.

Track 2 is a song I wrote in 1999/2000 when Alan and Mimi of Low were having a child. I was involved with a tribute project, and everyone decided to write lullabyes as a gift. I wrote this, but I couldn't sing it as well as I was hearing it. Since Mimi passed this year, I thought recording it would be a good tribute to her.

Track 3 is a new recording of a piece I wrote for Hardy Fox of the Residents. Originally performed at an experimental guitar night, the full version was recorded as part of Silber Records' Droneuary series. The original was 20 minutes long, but I thought to do a new version, getting to the emotional core of the piece.

Track 4 is a tribute to Akifumi Nakajima, who recorded under the name Aube. He was one of my favorite noise artists, who approached extreme sounds in terms of structure and design rather than just making noises. As a result, his work always felt more composed than his peers, and something I strove for while doing that sort of music. His method was to create each song out of a single sound source; water, the hum of lights, pages of a book, pieces of metal, manipulating the objects and then the sounds themselves. To honor him, all of the sounds were created from albums of his I own; making sounds with the cds, the jewel cases, records, sleeves, etc.
